Megan Carpenter: I'm an alumni of Burns High and graduated from UNC Charlotte in 2010 with a degree in Elementary Education. I've been in education for 8 years, teaching in Pitt County, Cabarrus County and now Cleveland County. I have taught, and/or tutored, Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th grades. My husband, Josh, and I have 2 children. Lucy is 7 and Edison is 4. I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, reading, baking/decorating sugar cookies, and watching sports.
Deborah Mangum: I have an associate degree. I have been a TA for 17 years in Cleveland County. I have one daughter, Cecily who is a media specialist in Durham NC. I enjoy spending time with my 3 dogs and I love to read.
Nikki Mull: I have been in the school system for 6 years. I previously worked at Grover Elementary school for 5 years. I started out subbing there and then moved into the role as the school Health Tech for 3 years. During those 3 years, I helped 4th and 2nd grades. Last year I worked in the library as the librarian and also helped out 2nd grade. This is my first year at Jefferson and I am so excited to be here and getting to know all these sweet children! I have 3 children, ages 20, 16, and 1. My husband and I own our own business, Mull's Towing and Recovery. I love watching my daughter play volleyball and spending time with my family in my free time.
Erika Scruggs: I graduated from Gardner- Webb University in December 2023 with my Elementary Education Degree. I have been in Cleveland County Schools for five years and previously served as an ABA Tech with the EC department. I am married to Tyler and we have a beautiful daughter, Savannah! I love to spend time with my family and friends, and be around those who make me laugh. As a family we love to travel and go on new adventures!
Kat Canipe: I graduated from Kings Mountain High school and then earned my undergrad degree at UNC Greensboro. I have been working for Cleveland County Schools for 15 years now! I taught 1st grade for 7 years, 2nd grade for 6 years, and 3rd grade for 1 year. Now I'm teaching 1st AND 2nd grade! I am married to my husband Charlie and we have one son, Cash, who is almost 1 year old! I enjoy spending time outside - during the cooler weather, playing with our 2 dogs, working on projects around our house, spending time with my family and friends, and snuggling up on the couch to watch movies.
