Jennifer Borneman: I graduated from Crest High School, then graduated from Gardner-Webb University with elementary education degree (k-6) and East Carolina graduate B-K degree. I have taught first grade at JES for 9 years. I am married with 2 grown children, and one granddaughter. I love to read and spend time with family.
Julianne McDowell: I went to Shelby High School. I graduated from Appalachian State University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. After I started teaching I also earned my AIG certification. I am currently in my 28th year of teaching. I have taught at James Love for 9 years, Union for 11 years, and this year marks my eighth year at Jefferson. I am married to Dave. My daughter, Wray, is a senior at Appalachian. My daughter, LeeAnne, is a junior at Shelby High School. I love to walk my golden retriever, Cade each afternoon. I love being outside, especially at the beach. I also love to teach swim lessons
Kat Canipe: I graduated from Kings Mountain High school and then earned my undergrad degree at UNC Greensboro. I have been working for Cleveland County Schools for 15 years now! I taught 1st grade for 7 years, 2nd grade for 6 years, and 3rd grade for 1 year. Now I'm teaching 1st AND 2nd grade! I am married to my husband Charlie and we have one son, Cash, who is almost 1 year old! I enjoy spending time outside - during the cooler weather, playing with our 2 dogs, working on projects around our house, spending time with my family and friends, and snuggling up on the couch to watch movies.
Robyn Wooten: I graduated from Crest High School in 2000. After graduating high school I went to UNC-Charlotte and earned an Early Childhood Education degree with a birth - kindergarten license. After teaching Pre-k for seven years in Gaston County I added a Kindergarten through 6th grade and took a job at East Elementary in Kings Mountain in Pre-K so my children could attend school in the same county they reside in. I taught pre-k, kindergarten, third and first grade at East Elementary School for twelve years. This is my first year at Jefferson Elementary and I truly BEElieve this will be the best year yet! I have been married to my husband Jeremiah for 18 years. We have two children, Anna( a junior) and Wyatt(sophomore) who attend Kings Mountain High School. Together we enjoy going to the movies, watching football and softball games and playing with our one year old Siberian Husky, Millie Skye.
Emma Goforth: I am a product of Cleveland County Schools. I graduated from Shelby High School in 2018. I went on to further my education at Appalachian State University where I received my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Visual Art. I am happily married to my high school sweetheart, Gavin Goforth! We are eager to welcome our first child in December 2024! We are having a baby girl named Lottie. We also have a precious golden retriever named Maple. I love spending time with my family, running, and making pottery!
